Jack Talyor, 81, died on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Talyor. Jack is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dianne Alston Talyor; sons, Michael Talyor (Tina) and Eric Talyor (Mary); daughter, Leigh Smith (Wayne); daughter-in-law, Katrina Talyor; grandchildren Lauren Talyor, Kenneth Talyor, Nicholas Talyor, Jacob Talyor, Kristen Tinney, Connor Padalino, Tag Smith and Clennan Smith; brother, Roy Talyor (Martha); nieces, Suzannah, Elizabeth and Martha Ellen; nephew R.J. (Allyson) and many other relatives and friends. Jack had great stories about growing up in the Bush Hills and in Homewood. He was proud of serving in the Marine Reserves and being a graduate of The University of Alabama. Jack's big adventure was to live in Point Lay, Alaska for nine years where he hunted and explored. Jack loved fishing, reading a good mystery, and watching Alabama football when they were beating the socks off the opponents - he did not like stress during the game. He will be missed by his family and friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 15. 2019 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home with a Celebration of Jack's life following at 2:00 PM. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to "Save Our Strays" C/O Bardin 4592 Lake Valley Dr. Birmingham, AL 34522.
