Keith is survived by his wife, Tammy Morris Fleisher; his children, Sarah and Jake Fleisher; his mother, Joy Fleisher; his sister, Nancy Fleisher Lewis (Doug); mother-in-law, Georgia Morris; brother-in-law, Scott Patterson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Scott and Linda Morris; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Fleisher; father-in-law, Joe Morris; and sister, Sharon Patterson.
Keith was born in Birmingham, AL, on October 8th, 1961, to Joy and Robert Fleisher. He graduated from Mountain Brook High School in 1980, and The University of Alabama in 1984, with a degree in Psychology. He attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and graduated in 1988. He proceeded to complete a surgical residency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center as well as an Anesthesia Residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he served as Chief Resident.
Keith was endlessly devoted to his family and friends and an incredible father. Despite long work days, he never missed a recital or sports event. He was an avid Alabama football fan and incredibly proud of his two children who he instilled within his love of Alabama football as well as his work ethic and kindness. Keith served as the medical director at Medplex Outpatient Surgery Center and was a partner in Southern Perioperative Services where he worked for over 30 years and built long-lasting relationships with his colleagues who held him in such high regard. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A grave-side service Wednesday, February 28th, at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Cemetery followed by a luncheon and Shiva visitation at Temple Emanu-El. Pallbearers are Brett Lewis, Heath Lewis, Anthony Morris, Wesley Patterson, Adam Hocutt, Jonathan Fleisher and Jeff Turner. Honorary pallbearers are his partners from Southern Perioperative Services. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Nick’s Kids Foundation or a charity of your choosing.
