Irene "Dink" Rodgers

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charlie "Oliver" M. Rodgers.

Dink is survived by her children Charlotte Williams, Marlin Rodgers (Brenda), Stanley D. Rodgers (Dottie), and Daryl Rodgers; her sister Christine Jackson; and numerous other relatives.

Dink lived a simple life as a housewife. She cherished her privacy and kept to herself. Dink had a passion for animals and would often take in animals brought to her by those who knew of her compassion. At one time, Dink had 35 dogs she was happily caring for. She loved all of God's creatures and found joy in caring for these precious friends. Dink will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Dink will be held Friday, August 24, 2018 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, Alabama. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 3:00 PM at Forest Crest Cemetery, 5730 Hwy 78 E, Irondale, Alabama.
