Helen Moss

.Moss, Helen Faris age 90 of Pinson, Alabama passed away Saturday February 18, 2012 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents Grady and Gena Goodwin Faris, brother Gene Faris and granddaughter Sandy Moss Ayres.

Living in Pinson most of her life, she was descended from pioneer families of Alabama. She graduated from Jefferson County High School in 1939. Her work career began at Silvers (later H.L. Green) department store in downtown Birmingham. In 1962 she began work for the Social Security Administration and retired in 1984. Her retirement years were golden, filled with love of family, friends, church and fun activities, especially the Atlanta Braves. She was also a loyal supporter of the Pinson Rock Reunion, the Darden Family Reunion and the Wood Family Cemetery Association. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Pinson; she cherished the members of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.

She is survived by sons Stanley, Charles (Diane) and Larry (Barbara) Moss. Brothers Harold (Evelyn) Faris and Jerome (Margaret) Faris. She is also survived by five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Tuesday February 21, 2012 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel at 10:00A.M. with interment to follow in Marvins Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.

The family expresses their special thanks to her caregiver Charlotte McCay and Alacare Hospice of Oneonta.
