Ernest A McLean, age 95, of Alabaster went to meet his heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. He was a active member of Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, a former member of Green Acres Baptist Church in Birmingham. Ernest actively served Gideons International Shelby County West Campus. He was a member of a Gospel Quartet, The Evangeliers. He retired from Gulf Life Insurance after earning many awards and trips around the world. He grew up in Chilton County as one of 14 children to Ernest A and Ethel DeRamus McLean, all of which pre-deceased. He is also pre-deceased by his wife, Dorothy Davis McLean, his second wife, Mildred McLean, son-in-law Donnie Kennedy along with many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his Son, Sonny McLean (Deborah); daughters, Brenda Gafnea (Robert) and Lynne Kennedy; grandchildren, Ray Cooke, Amy Coffey (Scott), Adam McLean (Crystal), Kyle Kennedy (Julie), Alison Cantley (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Lauren Coffey, Lainey and Ashlyn McLean, Kylie, Kadyn, Khloe and Judson Kennedy, Elijah, Vivian, Jozef and Scarlett Cantley and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 10 AM on January 11, 2021 at Elmwood Chapel, followed by funeral services at 11 AM.
