She leaves a husband of 55 years, Jim. She leaves a son Mike Nix (Jill) and a daughter Melissa Nix Grubbs (James Grubbs). She leaves two grandsons, Matthew and Conor Grubbs. She leaves cousins and friends by the dozens.
She was a member of Huffman Methodist Church her whole life. Her parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins were/are all members. She was christened there. She was married there. Her children were christened and married there. Her grandsons were christened there.
She was a full time wife and mother until her children were grown. Then she started a work career that culminated in her becoming a small business owner. When her first grandson was born, she sold that business and became full-time “day care” for both her grandsons. She was Neena to them and soon became Neena to all her children’s and grandchildren’s friends.
She lived a full and happy and productive life – daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and confidant to many. artist, , businesswoman – and excelled in each role she undertook. She will be missed by many. She was a victim of Lewy Body Dementia, a terrible disease that gradually and heart-breakingly stole the essence that made her the wonderful human being that she was.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ridoutstrussvillechapel.com for the Nix family.
