Debra Schoppert Kusky

Debra Schoppert Kusky, age 68, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 15, 2022. Debra was born October 11, 1953 to parents Robert Phillip Schoppert and mother Doris Logan Schoppert.

Debra grew up in Alabama with her sister Jill Elizabeth Schoppert, where fond and funny memories of their time together are treasured. Debra graduated from Berry High School and attended Jacksonville State College, and later received her nursing degree as a nurse attending a nursing College upon her move to Freeport, Florida. Her interests and hobbies included the love of water she had, and the Florida beaches she often visited.

Debra is preceded in death by her father Robert Phillip Schoppert and her mother Doris Logan Schoppert. She is survived by her sister Jill Elizabeth Schoppert, first cousins: Norman Ruttland(Grace), Bill Schoppert(Beth), Scott Schoppert(Debbie), Stewart Schoppert(Zaneta), cousins: Howard Hall Jr.( Hedi), Fran Tyler(Eric), Glenn Till Jr.(Vicki), Robert Martin, Daniel Martin, Debra Martin, Dayton Martin, Marsha Kelly(Max) and Sandra Evans. Other survivors include a whole host of other cousins and family with grandchildren and spouses.

Family and friends are invited to attend public services for Debra at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home on April 27,2022. A visitation for Debra will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave Sw, Birmingham, AL 35211. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211.

Refreshments will be served during visitation.
