Dawn Filer Elliott of Birmingham, AL., passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the age of 92. Dawn was born in Wales on December 19, 1924 to William & Ada (Howell) Filer. She married James C. Elliott in England on June 7, 1944. Dawn was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church in Eastlake. She is preceded in death by her husband, James C. Elliott, Sr.; son, James C. Elliott, Jr.; sisters, Ada Card of England; Kathy Watkins and Margaret Purnell of Wales; brothers, Harry Filer of England; Alan Filer and Jack Filer, of Wales. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Irene Williams and Brenda Craig; her son, William (Diane) Elliott; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Elliott will be held at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel on Thursday October 5, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. with a graveside service at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
