David “Dave” Garcia, 61, passed away July 14, 2021. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Manuel and Eva Garcia; mother, Maria Garcia; brother, Dennis Garcia; and sister, June Garcia. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marci Garcia; children, Josh Garcia (Justin Uzl) and Kayla Abercrombie (Josh); grandchildren, Paloma and Austin; brother, Rudy Garcia; sister, Toni Brown (Stewart); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave was a strong, sharp, intelligent, and goofy man, who was loved dearly by his family. He was an avid sports fan who loved his Texas Longhorns, “Hook ‘em Horns”. Dave loved music, especially the Beatles; and had an extensive record collection. His love of Disney and Star Wars was something he loved to share with his grandchildren.
The Garcia family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Nabell and her staff, UAB Oncology, his BBVA family, and his sister in-law, Maggie Ramirez, for their care, comfort, and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like Dave’s friends to share their special memories of and with him; or to make a donation in his memory to Star Wars: Force For Change.
A memorial celebration of Dave’s life and mass will be at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Chapel on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 10 am.
