Dan E. Holt, age 81, of Huntsville, Texas and formerly of Birmingham, went home to live with his heavenly father on April 26, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Sandra Rutherford Holt; loving father of Gregory Henderson Holt (Melessa), and Lesley Holt Hill (Simon); and devoted grandfather to Katherine Copeland Hill and Corbin Daniel Hill; brother to Arthur McCoy Holt (sarah), Madie Holt Cook, Gail Holt Glasscox, and Dr. Bobby B. Holt (Patti).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Henderson and Pearl Moss Holt; brothers, Fred Milford Holt, Clark Melvin Holt, William O’Neal Holt; and sister, Annie Holt Suddeth.
Dan was a veteran of the Korean War and retired as an Executive Vice President of Schuler Industries after 40 years of employment. All who have known him know what a kind, friendly, warm, and generous person he was. Everyone who knew him loved him.
A service celebrating Dan’s life will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service.
