Cheryl had a great love of life and was always up for an adventure. Anytime she could be in the water, she went for it because she was free to move about on her own. She had a knack for getting into a little trouble and was known for her feisty attitude. Cheryl had a vibrant heart and enjoyed life on her terms.
Cheryl also loved food; her favorites being pancakes, sweet potatoes and chocolate pie. She was a complete foodie at heart and like most Southerners, she enjoyed good food, good times and family.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her father, James W. Smith; her grandparents, Mildred and Horace Roberts, Myrtle and Willis Smith; her aunt Faye Nelson; and two cousins, Chris and Bruce Nelson.
Cheryl is survived by her mother Barbara R. Smith; her sister, Cindy Powell; her brother, Bubba Smith; 7 nieces, 8 nephews, 3 great-nieces, and 4 great-nephews. She is also survived by her aunt Peggy Dyar (Bubba); uncles, DeWayne Roberts, Thomas Roberts, Bobby Nelson and a host of cousins.
Cheryl's love of life and family will live on in the hearts of all of the people she touched. She will be dearly missed.
Visitation will start at 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 29, 2022 with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, Birmingham, Alabama.
