He was born in Walker County, AL on March 6, 1940, to the late Cecil and Hazel Bland.
Raymond is also preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Phillips; and three brothers, Doyle Bland; Burvel Bland; and Kenneth Bland.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 55 years, Marie Bland; two daughters, Gina (Robbie) Roberts and Jennifer (Brad) Holden; four grandchildren, Emily Roberts; Natalie Roberts; Claire Holden; and Harrison Holden; along with three sisters, Marie Sandlin; Carolyn (Nelson) Speigle; and Gene (Jim) Cantley.
A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Monday, May 6, 2019, from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church Remlap on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at 2:00 pm with a visitation beginning at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Remlap United Methodist Cemetery.
