Caroline Kessler Schaefer was born March 14, 1925 in Ensley, Alabama. A graduate of Minor High School she was employed by South Central Bell and later AT&T until she retired. She was a confirmed member of St. John's Evangelical Church and later in life attended Bluff Park United Methodist Church. She was a long-time resident of Hoover where she and her husband, Rudolph, were active in many social and civic clubs. She loved her family and will be missed. Survived by her Sister in Laws: Catherine Kessler, Joyce Kessler, Gloria Schaefer and Joanna Schaefer. Nephews: Allen Kessler (Pam), John David Kessler(Lindsay), Carl Schaefer, Jr. (Shari), Dale Schaefer (Gladys), AI Schaefer (Jeannie). Nieces: Janet Kessler Miller (Jim), Gretchen Schaefer McDaniel (Randall), Carol Schaefer Milster (Danny), Janice Schaefer Laatsch (Larry), Jessie Schaefer Ange (Steve), and many great nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by her husband Rudolph Edwin Schaefer. Her father, Henry Max Kessler, and mother, Lena Wamp Kessler. Her sister Betty May Kessler Courson and brothers Max Kessler and John Henry Kessler. Father-in-Law Herbert Henry Schaefer and Mother-in-Law Anna Frieda Schaefer. Sister-in-Law Mildred Hueske (Vernon) and Brothers-in-Law Herbert Schaefer (Dee), John Schaefer and Carl Schaefer Sr. There will be a service 11:00 am Friday November 17th, 2017 at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel with a visitation 1 hour prior.
