Carole Osborne McQueen age 73, a resident of Highlands Ranch, Colorado went home to the Lord, November 14, 2020. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on January 14, 1947, to the late Blanche Craig Osborne and the late Ollie Frank Osborne Jr. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael Charles McQueen and her sister, Riki Osborne Evans.
She had retired from LSU Medical Center and was spending her retirement in Highlands Ranch Colorado with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with family and friends creating fantastic dinners with her Women of Wine or “WOW” group. An avid Alabama football fan and “competitive” double twelve domino player, she loved to play cards and all types of games. She was a great story teller and could not pass up the opportunity to tell a great joke.
Carole will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, mammy, sister, and friend. She is survived by her children, daughter Michelle McQueen Spears (Robby); of Highlands Ranch, CO, and son Michael Craig McQueen (Michelle); of Lakewood CO. She also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren, Michael Eugene Hill, Grace McQueen Kafati, Michael Cage McQueen, and Ethan Craig Spears as well as two great-grandchildren, Maria Mae Kafati and Zayn Thomas Kafati. She is also survived by her sister and spouse, Barbara Osborne Meginniss (David) from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Missing her will also be her aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, December 1, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. The funeral service will be held at Holy Infant of Prague Catholic Church, Trussville on December 2, with a viewing at 10 AM and mass to follow at 11 AM. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery immediately following. Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association – American Heart Association.
