Betty Mulkin went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 15, 2022. She was born in Athens, Alabama on February 23, 1936, to Bernard and Minnie Vessels. She was a graduate of Ensley High School. Betty trusted the Lord with all her heart. She was a powerful prayer warrior, and only Heaven knows the eternal impact all her many years of faithful praying had on her family and friends. She served as a pastor’s wife for almost 40 years. She was married to the love of her life for 58 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Ray Mulkin; her infant daughter, Angel Mulkin; her parents, Bernard and Minnie Vessels; her sister, Mildred Smith, and her brother, Kenneth Vessels. She is survived by her son, Jeff Mulkin (Donna); daughter, Lori Orr (Mike); grandchildren, Hollie Arthur (Chris), Kaitlin McGuirk (Heath), and Andrew Orr (Julie); great grandchildren, Emma Kate and Jackson Arthur, Heath, Jr. and Michael McGuirk. She left a legacy that will lead them all their lives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 10:00a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery with burial to follow. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m.
