Anne Frazer Drake

On Monday, February 6, 2023, Anne Frazer Drake, wife, mother, and grandmother, entered fully into the presence of the Lord. Born January 22, 1940, the eldest daughter of Clara and Danner Frazer of Mobile, Alabama, she was educated at Miss Kitty’s, Leinkauf, and Barton. She was a graduate of Murphy High School and attended Agnes Scott and Birmingham-Southern Colleges. In 1960 she married Henry Drake. They settled in Birmingham, but she continued her lifelong ties to family and friends in her beloved childhood home of Mobile.

Anne considered being a wife and mother her calling and was devoted to raising her four children. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the most essential part of her life, and she became a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church in 1969 where she was active in Women’s Circle, Bible studies, Vacation Bible School, and countless other areas of service and discipleship. She enjoyed playing bridge, working crossword puzzles, and watching Jeopardy! as well. She is survived by her husband, Henry, and their children, Henry Drake (Kathleen), Katy Shelton (John), Emily Carpenter (Rick), and Danner Drake (Jennifer), siblings Danner Frazer (Pat) and Kathy Fountain (Percy), and as well as ten grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Helping Hands Ministries, Inc. in honor of Elizabeth Ray at Box 337, Tallulah Falls, GA, 30573.
