So sorry to hear of Al’s passing. I was one of his friends that flew model airplanes with him in regional and national contests. His models were always beautifully built and flew competitively. I greatly miss Al and all the great times together with all of our flying friends. RIP my friend.

The biggest blessing is that I have so many good memories of my Papaw that I can't even begin to count them. But some of the memories I love to recall is when Brian and I would get to spend the night at Mamaw and Papaw's house. In the morning we would get in his blue Buick and drive down to McDonalds for some biscuits and gravy. He would make sure we drove down "Thrill Hill" where he would encourage us to treat this road as a roller coaster. So Brian and I would throw our arms up in the air and holler all the way down. 
I will cherish all the holiday memories where his home was the centerpiece. He recorded all of our family holidays so diligently. And what was most evident was that he believed we were all really important. And every time we gathered together was something worth celebrating and remembering. 
To be loved by Papaw was to be known and listened to and cherished. His love and kindness was a treasure that he gave so generously. I am so thankful that I am his granddaughter. 
I named my son Linus Albert Williams after him because I want Papaw to be so firmly remembered in our family. I cannot wait for Linus and Clive to learn more about him and be influenced by his legacy as they grow into men.

I have such wonderful memories of my Uncle Albert!  Growing up, we shared so many special occasions with our extended families. Everyone could see what a special bond he and his siblings shared.  It was a closeness with genuine love and respect for one another.   I enjoyed hearing the many stories my mom would share about when they grew up, and the adventures up and down Rocky Ridge Road.  They taught us to appreciate the quality of life that money cannot buy.  I am so thankful that the Pardue family was raised to appreciate all that life has to offer, and made sure that laughter and love were ever present.

 Uncle Albert was a true family man with a heart of gold and a fantastic sense of humor.  He and Aunt Wynelle have a beautiful family!  His legacy lives on in Elan, Rhonda, and Gina - and we love you all very much.

Growing up, our family reunions were always the highlight of the year.  I have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Albert and his strength of character and gentle, peaceful nature.  I am praying for your peace amidst the pain and sorrow, resting assured in the glorious family reunion currently taking place.

I have known Al for 19 years, I called him Papaw. When I was younger my brother, Greg, my cousin, piper, and I would come visit our grandparents every summer we could. We went to Washington D.C. one summer. I really enjoyed that trip, riding in his car passing through all the states. Seeing all the museums, all the history there. He would take us to TreeTop. We would spend hours riding go carts, doing lazer tag, and the arcade games. We would come to their house for every holiday and there's so many happy memories from every holiday. 

My grandfather was a man that gave his all to his grandchildren. Some of my most treasured memories came from the summers I would spend with him. He would take the roudy bunch of kids made up of my cousin, my brother and I to many different things. We had so much fun playing baseball/basketball at the park or to the pool. My favorite of all was a place called "Thrill Hill" which is just a sloped road but to a little kid growing up I felt like I was in a roller coaster every time we went down it in the car. I will cherish these fond memories that made up my childhood and I thank him for helping to shape me into the man I am today. I love you Papaw!

When I think of Al, who was a grandparent to me, but was always Al, the first thing I hear is his voice. The sound is gentle and low, his accent not twangy or liltling, but somehow still Southern and comforting. The words all rush and tumble together in a way that always made me think of Elvis as a little kid. I hear it greeting me at the kitchen door. I hear it patiently directing me how to play an E chord, followed by a soft chuckle as I struggle with my 8 year-old hands to play something that sounded like anything. I hear it right before dinner on New Years Eve saying, “I wonder what the po’ folks are doing tonight?” I hear it even though he was the one listening to me most of the time, even though it was a somewhat quiet voice. He inspired me so much then with his dark room, and oil paintings, his model planes, and guitars, his days flying planes, and working at the news and photographing weddings far and wide. He inspires me now. And if I’m quiet, I can still hear his voice. 

Albert was the person behind the success we had in our color reproduction at The News. He was meticulous in working on each plate until he thought it was ready. He was never given the credit he deserved but working with him, we knew what he did. Al was a professional in whatever job he was given whether in engraving, the color lab or just being a trusted employee. We had fun solving the worlds problems at lunch and on coffee breaks too
Al took our daughters wedding photos and we grew to love his family, who are special people. Gail and I often talk of Wynelle, Elan, Rhonda and Gina and how positive about life they are and the faith they have. I believe Albert tried to instill this in everyone he met. Heaven has a special man added to the rolls.

So sorry for your loss. I’ll never forget him showing me a chord I was missing in “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” Beautiful song, great man. 

Since I am Al’s son-in-law and have known him since 1980 my memories of him are quite voluminous and they are all good. Al had the sunniest disposition and most optimistic outlook of anyone I have ever known. His
Kindness to people was endless. Once years agoI saw him out for his lunchtime walk downtown. He took me to see a physically challenged young man who made his living selling peanuts near Linn Park. We each bought some. Al said that everyone needed to make a living and we needed to make sure we helped that guy make his way in the world. That wasn’t an aberration, that was his routine. 

In the family he was the go to person to charm a restless baby. He would hold the child lovingly and gently pat their back while speaking softly in his deep base voice. While all else had failed the baby whisperer would succeed. 

What many people missed about Al was that he was almost always the smartest person in the room. There may have been people with titles, positions and lots of education but few had Al’s savvy or ability to think and create. Of course the reason this was overlooked was Al’s humble kindness.  

Rest in peace, Big Al, and being the gentle man that you are,  do go gentle into that good night. 

As I scroll through these family photos,  I see a rich life,  lived to the ultimate.  Always caring, generous and happy.  His way with his girls, and other children, was calm, patient and understated.  Personally, Al and Wynelle made my job so much easier during "recital season", always there, always helpful.  Heaven certainly received a deserving servant last Sunday.  Much love and sympathy sent your way to help through this difficult time.

As with the whole Pardue clan (Uncle Bill, My Dad...Jimmy, Uncle Albert and Aunt Joan) their laughter was contagious. It was never more true of Uncle Albert. He was to me a true renaissance man. He was a musician, artist, pilot and so much more. 

Thanksgiving at your home surrounded by the leaves of fall that we Kids would play in and the incredible thanksgiving feast was a treasure for me. 

I loved listening to my Dad, tell stories of uncle Albert, left the undying reality that my Dad deeply loved his little brother. 

Aunt Wynelle, I can't imagine the loss that you must be feeling. It was obvious to me my whole life that you guys had a deep love for each other. May God grant you piece during this season of loss. 

Elan, Rhonda, and Gina you were and are blessed...but you know that already! I may be slightly biased, but we were of all cousins blessed with aunts and uncles. But y'all were blessed by the parents God gave to you! May your heart be filled with incredible memories and the reality that we all, who love Jesus will see him again!

Aunt Wynelle, Elan, Rhonda and Gina, I’m sorry about Uncle Albert, it’s never easy to have to say goodbye to someone so close and dear to our hearts. 
The thing that is so encouraging is the fact that we will get to see him again in Heaven and there is a Celebration and a reuniting going on in Heaven.
I will always cherish the memories of the Pardue and Blomeley Clan’s gathering together for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. There was something special when that took place. 
As a kid that was some of my most favorite times.
The other thing that I loved was hearing Dad tells stories about Uncle Albert, Uncle Bill and Aunt Joan. They sure had a special bond and that bond trickled down to each of our family’s and for that I will be forever grateful.
We love each and everyone one of you and are praying for you all.

My Mom loved her older Brother,  my Uncle Albert.   They were close and were the last two siblings at home as Uncle Bill and Uncle Jimmy were older.  An illness Uncle Albert faced early in adulthood had led to doctors calling the family in for final goodbyes and prayer as modern medicine had done all they could. During my Mom's life I had always witnessed her in prayer for people, for events, for circumstances,for peace and God's healing presence. My Mom considered time with her brother a miracle, an answered prayer and a blessing from God. I am saddened by Uncle Albert's passing but I am comforted in knowing there is a celebration taking place in Heaven. 

If you were around my Uncle Albert and Aunt Wynelle you felt good and you were gonna laugh. I always marveled at the story he shared of discovering,once they got safely home, that he had accidentally hauled  his camping trailer without the pin in place that holds the hitch onto the car (they lived at the top of a mountain)! To be around Uncle Albert was to enjoy life and have fun. 

Family gatherings were so special with my Mom and her Brothers' families.  We often took for granted the love shared at each of these events but the warmth and love is what I remember most. Rambunctious camping, lake and beach trips always instilled a strong sense of extended family. Family built upon faith in the Lord. I feel so fortunate to have had Uncle Albert and Aunt Wynelle as role models in my life.

I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Pardue's passing.  My prayers go out to all of you.  I have so many fond memories from our dancing days.  We were lucky that not only did we have amazing "dance Moms" but we had "dance Dads" that were always involved.  They were always there to help with building and setting up the back drops for us.  This was before it was just a material back drops, of course.  My favorite will always be the "birthday cake"!  Not to mention the great pictures he was able capture of the dancers.  He was always so patient to get the perfect shot on picture day no matter how chaotic the day had been. 

There will always be a special place in my heart for your family and the great times we shared throughout the years!

I have such fond memories of all of our years of dance together. Our families shared a bond that I will forever treasure. I can still remember his sweet smile directing each dancer to get that perfect smile and making each of us feel just like a princess.  He was always so kind and had a smile every time you would see him. Ms. Wynell and girls, my heart is hurting for you all. I will be praying for you all in the time to come. Treasure the sweet memories and lean on each other for support . I will forever love  you all so much.

The Pardue kids, Uncle Bill, Jimmy (my Daddy), Uncle Albert and Aunt Joan were some of the finest people in the world.  I have such fun memories of all the Christmas and Easter family "get togethers"! I  miss those times!   I remember vividly Uncle Albert's airplane models and his guitar playing. And of course, Pardue's Pretty Pictures did our wedding pictures - they were beautiful. I was fascinated by his "dark room" where the pictures were developed.  I know you all have so many wonderful and happy memories that you will treasure in the days to come. I am thankful we will see him again when we get to Heaven. I love all of you!! We will be praying for you in the days ahead. 

When I was young I was constantly drawing cartoon characters as a hobby. I was as good as any child could expect to be, but I did not have the talent of someone who had been sketching for years and years. This was a bond I had with Papaw, he would give me art supplies and support my hobby. Every now and then I would ask him to draw me something and it always left me in awe due to his ability. It was very inspirational to me, and it only increased my desire to improve. This has had a lasting impact on my life, it shaped my understanding that you can achieve your goals if you put in the time. I will always remember these times I had with Papaw very fondly. 

I am sorry to have missed out on the privilege of knowing him.     What an amazing life and legacy!   He will definitely be missed!!   Condolences and prayers for you and your family, Rhonda, as you grieve your loss and anticipate your Heavenly reunion!!!


Al will be sorely missed.   I loved sharing jokes with him.  He was such fun to be around.  All his family are in my thoughts and prayers!
