Uncle Lou,
            It's so hard to lose someone I thought the world of and loved very much. It's even harder when that person was like a Father to me. I was too little when my Dad's life was taken too soon, therefore I had no memories of him. But as I grew through the years, you were always there to be sure that I knew what a wonderful husband and father he was every day of his life. You even extended yourself further to my son's Tim and Eric. When we went through a difficult time you were there for us. You were like a Grandpa to them and I can never thank you enough for that.
            I remember fun times at Christmas with you playing the guitar and harmonica. I'll never forget your smile, your laughter and the jingling of the coins in your pants pocket before you gave us kids a quarter. Lol
           When I whispered to you over the phone "I love you very much", I never thought they would  be my last words to you. There was still so much left to be said. I hope you know that you will always be remembered, as the memories, laughter and love we shared are the treasures I'll keep forever in my heart. A life lived with so much love never really ends, but goes on forever in the hearts of those who do remember.
          So until we meet again, keep smiling, keep laughing, enjoy fishing and please give all my love to Dad, Mom, Aunt Shirley and family who have gone before me.

I'm not even going to attempt to be as poetic as my brother Tim. That's simply impossible ;)

I'm incredibly saddened to hear of your passing. When I think of you, I think of fishing in Gloucester while Tim and my dad were seasick in the cabin....laughs and giggles "Eric, look at Timmy and your dad. Go ask them if they want a cheeseburger." Of course that was after you torched dad's fishing line in the tangled mess "because it was yours." Well done, haha.

All joking aside, you were simply a genuine person. An authentic representation of what a good, kind and gentle soul should be like. You were always selfless and humble no matter what you did......and you were hilarious.....a reminder not to take yourself too seriously. 

Rest easy-don't catch too many pickeral!

Uncle Lou, I’m so sorry to hear of your passing. I will never forget the times we spent fishing, singing at Christmas parties,   and going on picnics with the family years ago. I am also eternally grateful for you helping me to become a successful auto technician by working with me at the dealership. 
Most of all though, I thank you not for being a great-uncle, but for being the grandfather I never had that I have always longed for. I will miss you uncle Lou, and I can’t  help to smile when I think of you.  
An endless sea of happiness awaits you, along with those you loved who have gone before you. Enjoy the salty mist on your lips and cheeks, for all tears have now turned into tides, and struggles are now adventures that bend fishing rods and stretch line. May you land the big ones Uncle Lou and be sure to hold Aunt Shirley close as the sun sets, igniting the skies of heaven into lavenders and blues, for you are now reunited with the greatest catch of your life.
Rest easy Uncle Lou and know that I’ll always love you. When it’s my time time to go, I will be waiting for you on the docks.

Words can’t describe what an honor it has been for you to spend your final years with us. We have traveled so many places and  had so much fun. There will always be an empty place at our table and in our hearts. Rest In Peace  Dad. I will always love you. 💙
