John D. Simerman, age 91, of Beverly Hills, Florida passed away on September 23, 2022. He was born on September 19, 1931 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late John David Simerman, Sr. and Marcella (Ensch) Blake.
John was a Master Sergeant with the United States Marine Corps and retired after 22 ½ years of service to is country. He served in Korea and Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart, two Bronze Star in active duty and numerous other accommodations in his military career. After his retirement, he became a police officer with the Noble County Sheriff’s Department and retired after 18 years (1987).
John was a fan of the Redskins and Notre Dame Football and a cigar enthusiast. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Lecanto, Florida along with multiple military clubs and associations to include, Chosen Few, 1st Marine Division Association, 3rd Marine Division Association, 1st MAW (Marine Air Wing) Vietnam Association and Chosen Few Flags Chapter, USMC League and volunteered with the Young Marines.
John is preceded in death by his brother, James Blake.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Carol K. Simerman; children, Susan McManama, Greg (Lisa) Simerman and David Simerman; two grandchildren, Dylan and Hallie McManama along with several nieces and nephews.
