John Marshall Houston

It is with great sadness that we share the news of John Houston’s passing, unexpectedly but peacefully on November 1, 2022 at the age of 78 while on a golfing holiday in Florida. Cherished husband and best friend to Sue Houston (née Elliott). Beloved father to Todd (Jenny) and Kelly (Matt Routley). Adored Grandad to Theo, Charlie, Emma and Owen.

Loving brother-in-law of Art and Jane, Marcia, and Doug and Sue. Predeceased by brother-in-law Ron. John will be missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends.

John had a successful dental practice in Cambridge for 30 years. After retiring at the age of 58, Dr. J spent the subsequent years enjoying many rounds of golf with his friends, cottaging with his family, skiing with friends and family, playing bridge, and doting on his children and grandchildren. John will be remembered for his love of life, his laugh, his renowned culinary skills and his kindness to all he met.

A Celebration of Life will be held at WhistleBear Golf Club, 1316 Dickie Settlement Road in Cambridge, on Thursday November 17, 2022 from 2-5 pm. Family remarks at 4 pm. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
