John was born in Binghamton, NY to Florence Mae Talbert and Paul Jon Fisher who, along with his sisters Barbara and Carol, ignited an early appreciation for the outdoors and all its wonders.
Competitive shooting sports, hunting, fishing and camping were enjoyable pastimes in all the places he called home; New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Florida. Woodworking provided an outlet for John's artistic talents for the breadth of his life. He had a unique gift for seeing the beauty with the broken, old or worn. He took great pleasure in gifting bowls, cutting boards and Christmas ornaments to many who appreciated his craftsmanship. His special ability to restore furniture and share his knowledge was apparent as a respected member of the Beverly Hills Craftsman Guild. Other interests included Hands On Woodturners, Outpost Range and Robinson's Ranch.
John is survived by his wife Cindy and children, Jennifer (Christopher), Paul (Sarah), Kellie (Scott) and grandchildren, Morgan, Haleigh, Wesley, Leah and Connor, as well as his sisters Barbara and Carol (Dan), niece Carrie and nephews Daniel and Brad.
John will be cremated under the care of Fero Funeral Home. His ashes will be placed on Little St. George Island at a future date.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven; a time to be born and a time to die; a time to mourn and a time to dance (Ecc 3:2-4).
In memory of John, please consider making a donation to the Beverly Hills Craftsman Guild c/o Beth Rucker, President, 934 N. Hunt Club Dr., Hernando, FL 34442.
