Carl O. Held, 87 of Hernando, Florida died on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. He was born on Sunday, September 2, 1928 to Vernon L. and Dora Lucille (Aharrah) Held in Strattanville, Pennsylvania. Carl and his wife Fern were seasonal residents from Pennsylvania until they made Florida their permanent home in 2012. They had a Bluegrass Festival on their farm for 44 years called Forest Circle Bluegrass located in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. They also, had festivals for several fire companies and other organizations.
Carl was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra L. Snyder.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Fern (Dormire) Held of Hernando, Florida; sons, Richard D. Held and wife Adella of Gaffney, South Carolina and Edward V. Held and wife Peggy of Washington, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Carl’s Celebration of Life took place on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Arrowhead Community Building.
