Betty Lou Owens, 85 of Hopkins, Missouri passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013. She was born on Saturday, May 12, 1928 to Elbert M. and Lucille O. (Myers) Egger. Betty Lou was a retired school teacher and moved to this area 23 years ago from Winfield, Illinois. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Inverness, Florida and enjoyed Bible studies, crafting and was a volunteer for the Federation of the Blind.
Betty Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Bill E. Owens on May 26, 2011 and daughter, Brenda Tucker.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth Jones and husband Bill of Beverly Hills, Florida; grandchildren, Kimberlee Garner and husband David of Paris, Tennessee, Terra Lewis and husband Mark of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Jonathan Owens and wife Yanina of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Victoria Tucker of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Emily Tucker of Gainesville, Florida and great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Cheyenne Garner both of Paris, Tennessee and Benjamin Owens of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Visitation, Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Fero Funeral Home. Interment follows with Military Honors at 3:00 PM at Fero Memorial Gardens.
