Andres Chaparro, Sr.

Andres Chaparro age 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, August 22, 2022. Andres was born in Aguada, PR to his Mother Juana Cortez and Father Juan Chaparro. Andres lived in Hartford, CT and Citrus Springs, FL. His mother unfortunately passed away early in his life, so Andres was raised by his father and grandparents. He grew up surrounded by cousins whom he loved with all his heart and formed a close brotherhood with. They would remain close talking on the phone weekly for hours at a time.

At the age of 17 he moved from Puerto Rico to Hartford, CT where he met the love of his life Monserrate Chaparro. They would marry and share a beautiful life together and a marriage of 66 years. Andres spent over 45 years employed at the following, Hilton Hotel, Colt Firearms, Royal Factory, and Saint Mary’s Home. He was a devout Catholic with a passion for cooking, and music. He loved to sing and possessed a great sense of humor. Andres was caring, compassionate and loved being surrounded by friends and family especially his grandchildren whom he would share stories and music.

He is survived by his beloved wife Monserrate Chaparro, his daughters Zaida Marie Ortiz, Irma Monserrate Austin, his son Andres Chaparro Jr., his son in laws, Jose Ortiz, Bryant Austin, daughter in law Carmen Chaparro, his grandchildren Samuel David Chaparro, Sei Ra Austin, Jose Antonio Ortiz, Armando Luis Ortiz, Marco Andres Ortiz, Noel Miguel Ortiz, Isabel Marie Chaparro, Julian Andres Chaparro, his great grandchildren True Chun Thomas, XiYen Chun Thomas, Aries Irma Chun Velez, and Azhani Vincent Ortiz. He is predeceased by his mother Juana Cortez, father Juan Chaparro and son Samuel Chaparro.

There will be two Memorial Services held for Andres:

* Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills, FL (6 Roosevelt Blvd, Beverly Hills, FL 34434)

* Friday, September 16, 2022, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Hartford, CT (79 New Park Ave, Hartford, CT 06106)
