Virgil A. Goodwin, Jr., age 90 of Yukon, passed away Nov 14, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born Jul 29, 1922 in Willow, Oklahoma to Virgil Sr. and Lillie Mae (Waller) Goodwin. Virgil proudly served our country during WWII in the US Navy Seabees Construction 56th Battalion. He was a self employed truck driver and after retirement, discovered a talent for Scroll Sawing. The gifts he made for his family and friends will be forever treasured. He also enjoyed gardening. He was a member of the World Wide Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Alton Goodwin and a grandson, Vinson Batey. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Goodwin of the home; two daughters, Linda Dowell and husband Tony of Ada, OK and Sue Stewart and husband Brady of Edmond, OK; grandson, Dyron Batey of Edmond, OK; granddaughter, Rebecca Stewart of Germantown, MD; brother, Burl Goodwin and wife Deloris of Anadarko, OK; sister, Lois Ward of Gallup, NM; sister-in-law, Fran Johnson of Houston, TX and many nieces, nephews and special friends, Ronnie and Ann Young of Yukon, OK. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov 17, 2012 at Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
