Orin V. Koerner was born Sept. 22, 1920 in El Reno , OK , the son of Edna & Oscar Koerner. He and his 3 sisters & 1 brother attended El Reno schools where Orin graduated from high school in 1939. During his lifetime he worked as clerk & in management for McClellan’s and TG&Y variety stores in Texas and Oklahoma, served in the army in WW II, worked in an oil refinery in Texas City, TX, and finally was a residential & commercial painter in OKC until he retired in 1985. Orin married Opal Tinsley in 1948. They attended & actively served in several churches, with their final church home being Hope Church in OKC. Opal passed on in 2005. In Mar. 2010 Orin moved to the Oklahoma Veterans residence in Norman , OK . Following a brief illness and surgery, Orin passed away June 4, 2010 at Norman Regional Hospital . He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 2 sisters and his loving wife Opal. He is survived by numerous nieces & nephews. Services will be June 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Bill Merritt funeral chapel followed by burial at Oakland Cemetery .
