Opal M Stroud

Opal Marvell Shipp Stroud passed away July 26, 2017. She was born March 23, 1928, South of Hydro, Oklahoma to James Swepton and Emma Folks Shipp. Opal was a homemaker and school cafeteria worker. Opal married Marvin T. Stroud January 1, 1949. Three children were born to this union, Mike, Phil and Denise. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Albert and sisters May Stange, Ollie Friedman, Merle Pennington, Maureen Lokey, and Ruth Prewitt. Opal is survived by two sisters Betty Hall and Esther Snyder; her sons Michael and his spouse Marilyn of Yukon; Marvin Phillip of Oklahoma City; and daughter Denise and her spouse Don Gray of Tulsa; five grandchildren Micah Stroud of California; Cory and spouse Brook Stroud of Oklahoma City; Jason and spouse Janiece Gray of Minnesota; Jonathan Gray of Florida; and Amanda and spouse Sam Thurman of Bethany; and 11 great grandchildren Dublin, Dean and Sean Stroud; Emma, Alyson and Avery Gray; Sarah and David Tomlin; Tristan, Tatum and Abigail Thurman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Opal was laid to rest at Hydro Masonic Cemetery on July 31, 2017 in Hydro, Oklahoma.
