Marilyn Faye Chambers, age 62, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born December 3, 1961 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Jesse and Ellen Peerson, 30 minutes before her twin sister, Carolyn. She learned the value of hard work at a very young age, and with that mindset, she had a very successful executive career in banking, first with MidFirst Bank and then with Local Federal. For the past several years she enjoyed a wonderful career with BMO Bank (previously known as Bank of the West). BMO compassionately supported her throughout this journey to the very end. Marilyn was on the board for the YWCA and was instrumental in helping create the Child Abuse Response Center. If there was a board or committee, you can almost guarantee that she would be a part of it. Marilyn attended Grace Church in Yukon and had a strong and steadfast faith in her Lord and Savior. She selflessly dedicated her life to helping others in any capacity that she could. Marilyn was a tough woman who never found anything she couldn’t do. She enjoyed golf, fixing things around the house, and scaring people with a great big smile on her face. Above all, she loved her family and spoiling her grandsons. Marilyn lived her life with enthusiasm and love. Her sense of humor, her generosity, and her beautiful smile will be incredibly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Tommy Peerson, Verna Dorr Looper, Wanda Hamby, and Jim Bill Peerson.
She is survived by her daughters, Ellen Chambers (Tarron Horner) and Jennifer Chambers (Tyler McKelvey); grandsons, Langesten and Benjamin Chouinard and Carter and Jax McKelvey; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Dale Davis, Vicky and Bill Copher; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Sharon Peerson; god-children, Trey and Jennifer Vobornik and Jesse and Karli Vobornik; as well as a host of other family, friends, and co-workers.
A Celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held at a later date.
