Lester Clinton Barton

Lester Clinton Barton, age 89, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024 in Bethany. He was born November 23, 1934 in Bethany to Chester Quinton and Juanita Odie (Elliott) Barton. Lester graduated from Bethany High School and was then drafted, alongside his twin brother, into the United States Army where they served in the same unit. He married the love of his life, Betty Birkes, on February 1, 1956. Lester loved hunting, golfing, fishing, and cheering on OU Football. He was a proud 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Amity Lodge 473 in Oklahoma City. He was also a member of the India Shriners.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Chester Barton, Delores Percival, Pat Pinion, and Joe Barton.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Barton; children, Michael Barton, David Barton (Debbie), and Cindy Evans (Keith); sister, Sandra Siler; grandchildren, Mandy Letort (Chris), Amy Russell (Jason), Jeremy Barton (Freedom), Laney McKinney (Tyler), Josh Barton and Austin Stakes; great grandchildren, Lexy, Micala, Mia, Haley, Nicole, Clayton, Landon, Braxton, Natalie, Andrew, Bo, Corbin, and Tyson; great-great grandchildren, Evie and Finn; as well as a host of other family and friends.
