JoAnn Youngblood Morgan, 84, passed away January 3, 2013 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. JoAnn was born December 30, 1928 in Altus, Oklahoma to Hugh Andrew and Willie Beatrice Ketchum Youngblood. JoAnn loved growing up with her two older brothers, Dub and Hugh, Jr., and her younger sister, Jean. After graduating from Classen High School in Oklahoma City, JoAnn completed secretarial classes and went to work at Liberty Bank. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau, a philanthropic sorority.
She was introduced to Raymond Morgan on a blind date and they were married February 7, 1959. JoAnn and Ray moved with Ray’s job at Johnson Controls Heating and Air to Montana, Texas, and finally back to Oklahoma.
JoAnn worked in banking throughout her life. She worked at Sharpstown Bank in Houston, Texas and Guaranty Bank in Oklahoma City. She was also busy being a wife and mom to two children. She was never too busy to help with school work or scouts. After she and Ray retired they enjoyed traveling and camping in their RV.
JoAnn is proceeded in death by her parents, her brothers, Dub and Hugh, Jr. and her sister, Jean.
JoAnn is survived by their daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Joe Mark Cowden, and their son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Ronda Morgan. She is also survived by her grandchildren Cory, Lacy, and Chelsea Morgan and her step-grandchildren Brad Cowden and his wife, Brooke, and Zachary Cowden. JoAnn is also survived by great- granddaughter, Emma.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:00 am at Bill Merritt Funeral Service in Bethany.
