Our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, and Friend, Fannie “Margarete” Irby, age 84, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 4, 2021 due to natural causes. She was born to Vera and George Price in Konawa, OK on November 29, 1936. Margarete married Jesse Irby on May 24, 1950 in Tupelo, OK. They were married for almost 60 years until Jesse’s death. They moved to their forever home in Warr Acres in 1972. When their youngest went to school, she did too, but in the Putnam City School Cafeteria. She worked there for 27+ years. She was a dedicated employee and supporter. Margarete was a long time member of Williams Church of the Nazarene in Bethany. She was always available and ready to help when there was a need. Margarete’s greatest joy was watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren in their various activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse Irby; son, Jesse Irby II; 1 great grandson; and 2 brothers.
She is survived by her children Diana (Clyde) Plumley, Donna Irby, Dena Irby, and Darla (Eric) Taylor; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Martin; brother, Charlie Price; sisters-in-law, Judy Irby and Lynda McCraw.
Visitation will be 2pm-4pm Sunday at Bill Merritt Funeral Service.
Services will be 2pm Monday at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Bill Kalfas officiating.
