David Allen Poindexter

David was born March 24, 1945 in Oklahoma City to Jess and Bonnie (Wyatt) Poindexter. He graduated from Putnam City Original. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1966-1969. When he came home, he met and married the love of his life, Penney. Together they were saved and built their marriage, and their family, on the love and strength of the Lord.

David owned and operated Poindexter Water Well Drilling Company and Poindexter Supply Company. Later in life, he worked as a realtor for Keller Williams Realty Elite. He also loved telling stories and was considered a professional story-teller.

David was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. With his bold Faith, he led hundreds of people to the Lord. He was called to help others and he did that in various ways throughout his life. He went on numerous missions trips, helped feed the homeless, and would pray for his family, his friends, and his country.

David will be remembered for his quick wit, his sense of humor, his smile, and his bold Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Penney; and sister, Jacque Bailey.

Those left to cherish their memories are his sons and daughter-in-law, Wyatt and Angie Poindexter, and Josh Poindexter; grandchildren, Cameron and Katie Poindexter; twin sister, Judy Smith; nephews, Darin Smith and wife Terri, Bryan Smith, Jason Smith and wife Cyndi, Rob Bailey and wife Connie, and Jim Bailey; as well as host of friends.
