She had a wonderful sense of humor, very intelligent (an accountant for the State of Oklahoma for many years), very bright to her last day.
She was always polite, peaceful in spirit and could not tolerate arguing.
She worked to make everyone at ease. Always interested in everyone around her, asking questions about where they were going and what they were doing, always generous with her time and donations to help the less fortunate.
She loved westerns, especially Gun Smoke, because the GOOD GUYS always won.
In her younger years, Darliene loved to play golf and enjoyed watching golf tournaments on TV. In school she was given the nickname of “Skippy”.
Her favorite foods were hot dogs, pizza and vanilla ice cream.
Darliene loved being outside, and when able, often worked in her garden. She believed that children do not spend enough time enjoying the clouds and blue sky. When she was a young girl, Darliene lived on a farm in Duncan, Oklahoma, with her grandmother Della. It was Darliene’s job to weed the garden and catch, kill and pluck the chickens.
