Brenda June “Sisi” Morgan, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on June 13, 2024, in Rogers, Arkansas, at the age of 65. Brenda was born on July 1, 1958, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Ronnie and Betty Morgan. Brenda moved to Arkansas and earned her degree in teaching from the University of Arkansas, in 1992. She was a long-time resident of Rogers, AR and a member of First Baptist Church. Known for her deep compassion and unwavering faith, Brenda dedicated much of her life to helping others and spreading the Gospel through missionary work.
Brenda taught ESL and Science at Elmwood Jr. High and Rogers High School for 25 years. She made a great impact on the lives of her students and was hailed as a “great teacher” each year as students signed her yearbook. Brenda loved being outside, walking, biking, gardening, and going to the gym.
Brenda didn’t mind working hard, and often said “hard work always brought rewards,” following her father’s hard work ethic he learned on the farm in Lookeba, OK. Her love for the outdoors was a reflection of her vibrant spirit and zest for life. Brenda loved being around family and friends. The motto she shared with them was to be honest with yourself and God.
Brenda was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her children, David Woodring and wife, Jessica of Rogers, AR, and Julie Rusch and husband, Ryan of Fayetteville, AR, and their children Austen, Benny, Ben, Isaac, and Ruby. In addition, she is survived by her father, Ronnie Morgan of Bethany, OK, her brother, Ronnie Morgan, Jr. of Midwest City, sisters, Ronda Morgan of Edmond, and Pamela Tarlton and husband, Keith of Stillwater.
Brenda’s legacy of love, faith, and dedication to others will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family, friends, and students.
