Ray is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ruth Claggett Stroup, and his brother Paul Jones.
Ray is survived by his wife, Frances Oelschlaeger Jones; his former wives, Alma Stahl Jones and Mary Utterback; his sister, Martha Claggett; and his four children, Raymond A. Jones, Jr.(Christine), Billy James Jones(Mary), Ruth Lois Christian(Dave), and Larry Wayne Jones(Marlene); eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Raymond grew up during the Great Depression in Oklahoma working on the farm with his father. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1950 and served honorably for 3 1/2 years. There he learned his pipe-fitting skills and trade and later became a successful plumber and businessman.
Raymond’s roots stayed with him all his life and was evident in his love of the land, cattle, and John Deere tractors. Ray was a charter member of the Greater Kansas City Two Cylinder Club. He brought great passion and expertise to the group in maintaining the legacy of John Deere tractors.
Raymond's greatest love, however, was the Lord Jesus Christ. He served the Lord all his life and was always bold to share his faith. Ray loved the church, his pastor, and his church family. He was a faithful, loyal member of Belton Assembly of God for 35 years and for the last 21 years he has been a beloved trustee and minister in the Body of Christ Church.
