Minnie M. Spencer of Peculiar, MO, was excited to have lived over 100 years. She passed peacefully surrounded by family on December 9, 2023. Minnie was born September 12, 1923, in Harwood MO, the daughter of Ernest and Lucie (Steele) Radde. She grew up in Vernon County, and was a 1942 graduate of Walker MO High School. She was united in marriage to O. Dean Spencer on January 1, 1942, in Nevada, MO.
Minnie moved from Walker, MO to the Kansas City area in 1958 with her husband, Dean and 3 children Madeline, Jim, and Gary. She worked almost 24 years at Internal Revenue, retiring in 1983, during which time they were able to purchase the 10 acre farm where they lived for many years. After they moved to the Oasis in Belton, Minnie became a member of New Hope Christian Church.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Bud Radde and sister Lola Mae, her husband Dean, a son Gary, and grandson Kevin Stewart. She is survived by one daughter Madeline (Bill) Dobson of Belton, one son Jim D. (Kathy) Spencer of Peculiar, 7 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She has made a remarkable impact on her family and friends, living a simple life filled with wit and passion.
