Janice Elaine Phillips, 86, years of age passed on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Research Hospital. Janice was born January 18, 1938 in Jefferson City, MO to the late William and Sarah Nelson. She was the youngest of four children, all of whom have preceded her in death. She grew up and graduated in Versailles, MO where she earned a scholarship to Kansas City Conservatory for Music.
She was married to Kenneth Dale Phillips on January 4, 1958 in Versailles, MO. They moved to Belton, MO where they raised two children, Scott Dale Phillips of Belton, MO and Randall Allen Phillips of Thornton, CO.
Janice was the founder of Belton’s, Bits and Spurs Saddle Club during the 70’s.
She worked at and retired from Marion Laboratories in Kansas City, MO where she worked for 20+ years as a Sales Convention Coordinator and retired at the age of 55.
Janice professed her life to Christ at an early age. She was active in her church, where she served as Secretary of the Belton Methodist Church. She was a vocalist at Weddings, Funerals and Church services for many years. She later became a member of the Belton Assembly of God. Janice loved serving the Lord. She loved reading the bible, praying for others and spending time with family. She was a loving, caring person, devoted wife, mother and friend. Always thinking of others first.
Janice leaves two sons, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
