Pete was born on January 16, 1959 in Conneaut, Ohio. Soon after, he was adopted into a large family with twelve children, four boys, Jack (D), Eddie (D), Harlan (L), and Philip (D) and eight girls, Donnie (D), Pat (D), Sandy (L), Carol (L), Jackie (D), Jean (D), Cathy (D) and Fuss (D).
Pete and Lynne married and had two beautiful daughters, Leah and Alexandria who both currently reside in Ohio.
In 1996, Pete and Jackie married. Jackie had a daughter, Clarissa, and Pete and Jackie had a daughter, Haleigh.
Many from Ohio to California and beyond loved Pete. He never had trouble making new friends wherever he went. Anytime he posted something on Facebook you could count on at least ten or twenty comments, sometimes more.
His California family was most appreciative when Pete opened his home to his mother-in-law Leona when she was dying, and later taking care of Jackie until her death in 2011.
Pete spent his last three months at the VA hospital in Long Beach. It was amazing to see how many friends Pete made at the hospital during his stay; from the doctors, to the nurses, to the techs and to the maintenance staff. Everybody knew Pete.
When Pete was moved from the DOU on the fourth floor to ICU on the third floor, it was common for the fourth floor nurses and techs to come to see how he was doing. Pete even had friends from other parts of the hospital (Larry and his talking dog—really), and people he had met from previous hospital stays.
Pete was proud of his military service, and equally proud of the fact (through A.A.) he overcame his alcohol addiction.
Pete will certainly be missed.
