Yuhang was my cousin. She was one of my best friend in my childhood. I was so lucky to have such a perfect relative. I remember her lovely smile. I remember her nice face. I remember her gentle voice. I believe she is very happy in heaven and never suffer from any decease. 

If there will be another life,   God,  please let her to be my sister so I can love her again, until 3000 times.

Yuhang was one of the first people I met when I started MSFT in June 2003 -- she got back from her first maternity leave right after I started and our manager at the time told me that I needed to read her specs and pay attention as she set the gold-standard for spec writing and that I would learn a lot from Yuhang. I was always in awe of how deeply technical Yuhang was and her patience as she ramp other people (including me) up on the area she was so expert on. A little later, I became the team lead (a new lead at MSFT) and Yuhang made my work easy, she had a wonderful ability to make me feel so at ease and in many ways trained me to be a good lead, so I have a lot to thank Yuhang for. I still smile as I think back to the parting comment of the outgoing lead at the time something like "Katharine, if you do nothing else in your new role, listen deeply to Yuhang -- she knows this tech inside and out -- make sure you pay attention to her wisdom" and he was right… Yuhang and I worked together in the same team until Dec 2015 and I appreciated and valued every interaction we had, she always had a smile on her face, always seemed so positive and on top of her work and created a great team environment.

It is my pleasure to work with Yuhang in Windows Phone era in Microsoft; she is veteran PM in Window CE/Mobile/Phone, and especial in OMA SyncML/DM/FOTA area etc, which was my area as well; so we have lots of common understandings. :-) 

We also have similar ages kids; so we often saw each other in community after work, like in ProClub swimming pool; smile/chat for kids education, also I suggested the violin teacher to her daughter.

We always think her Chinese name is 宇航 with no reason, which means astronaut. And finally she corrected us her Chinese name is 于航 (if I remember correctly), we all laughed and made fun of her for the astronaut name.

Happy moment passes by way so fast.

R.I.P Yuhang!

I met Yuhang when we worked together on the Windows Mobile team. I had already been with Microsoft for several years. Yet meeting and working with Yuhang reminded me of how it felt to join a great company as a newcomer, where experienced people welcome you into their team. Her thoughtful and positive energy always left me feeling valued and with new perspective on our shared work. Thank you Yuhang, you will be missed!

I worked with Yuhang at Microsoft and even though we were in different teams; her work ethic and ability to bring out the best in everyone around her was readily apparent.  She was always ready with a helping hand or an explanation of a concept in the management stack.   She was a light in this world and will be missed.  Thoughts and prayers for her family at this time, may angles rest beside you during this time.

I was fortunate to work with Yuhang at Microsoft as a relatively new college hire PM. She was the Senior PM driving the management strategy for Windows 10 devices. In addition to her obvious expertise, what stood out was the exemplary way she treated everyone around her with kindness, respect and patience. It left a strong impression on me as someone trying to figure out who I aspired to be professionally. It is hard to hear that she is no longer with us in person but I will look to honor her spirit by remembering the gift of all I learned from her and reflecting that in my actions. My sincerest condolences to her family.

It is sad and shocking, and I am still in denial mode. Yuhang is such a positive and strong person to impact everyone in our team, within and beyond Device Management area. I vividly remember those post-it markers on her printout of OMADM protocols. I have worked with her on countless projects and initiatives, I have always been proudly referring her as my PM. I am grateful chatting with her in many office lunches. She loves her kids her family, and she still has a lot of plans in the future. Her cheerful smiles are among every memory.

I had the privilege to work with Yuhang at Microsoft on Enterprise services including within Windows Phone.  When I think about Yuhang, it is her smiling, cheerful personality that is always willing to go above and beyond to help her colleagues. She was a hard worker, and was very good at what she did. She has left this world way too soon, but has left only the fondest memories every day that we've known her.  Our prayers are with Yuhang's family at this trying and challenging time.  May Yuhang's soul rest in peace.  

We still could not believe that Yuhang has left. Many enjoyable moments and trip memories in the past seem just happened yesterday. Her kindness, intelligence, and energy impressed us deeply. Blessing her great soul rest peacefully. She will stay in our mind and the beautiful life honored. Life is like a long journey on a train, and if you are really lucky, you are blessed with a wonderful person who shares the journey with you. I am so lucky that YuHang shared my journey for 12 years. She was the nicest, kindest, and most passionate friend a person could have, and I will miss her dearly.
It was 12 years ago when I first met YuHang at the Microsoft building’s kitchen. She gave me a friendly smile. For the people who knew her, you all remember her friendly smile. We started to talk and agreed to meet for lunch. Her favorite topics included her children, family, and work. Soon, we invited more and more friends join us and it wasn’t long before we decided to meet on the weekend so we could feel more relaxed and talk about our life and share experiences.
Next, YuHang volunteered to organize a monthly gathering for the group, and I would always smile when I saw her messages about our monthly gathering, which went on for more than 10 years! Since my children are older than hers, she would always chat with me about the children’s education, school, and activities and how important they were to her - she loved her children, her family, her work, and her friends very much, so much that we often needed to remind her to love herself too.
In the past few months, YuHang didn’t want to bother us, even though she was the person who helped others the most. We still can’t believe that we have lost her.  But I want to tell YuHang that although the journey she shared with us was not long enough, we appreciate all the joy she gave us, all the knowledge she shared with us, and we thank God for her kind heart and we will always remember her smiles, love, and friendship.

I had the pleasure of working with Yuhang on the Windows Phone team. I remember the smile and the friendliness and also her professionalism. She was always ready and on top of her work, always ready to help her peers. 
Very sad and sorry to hear about her passing. 
Rest in peace Yuhang Zhu, you will be missed.

It was heartbreaking to hear the sad news. Yuhang was such an energetic, organized and smart woman. The very first time we met was in a park play ground. One year later we met again in our daughters' pre-school. Since then we became good friends. We enjoyed hiking, camping and family vacation together. Your lovely smiling face will be forever in our memories. 

Rest in peace, Yuhang and we will certainly miss you!

Twelve years ago, the first day when I joined the company, my lead showed me the office tagged Yuhang Zhu, "A great PM. She is on maternity leave." Later I got to know that was when she had her lovely daughter Cynthia. Back then we were in neighbor teams working on different projects. We only crossed each other every now and then. I already enjoyed her bright smiles and friendly greetings.

One day I came across another super friendly lady, Stella, in the hallway. She invited me to join her and her several Chinese women friends for lunch. Thinking I would be meeting a group of strangers, when I saw Yuhang was one of them, I immediately felt at ease. From that moment, almost eleven years has passed. Amazingly the group has maintained strong bonding, mostly thanks to Yuhang’s efforts to organize regular gatherings. And over the years Yuhang has become a very important friend in my life. 

It was really sad and painful to hear about Yuhang’s leaving. All the memories have come to mind as flashback. I suddenly realize that in most of the memories, she is giving. Giving warm smiles, providing sincere advices, lending help hands … Such a positive and considerate friend, she helps you, comforts you and cheers you up. “Lei, let’s have a baby shower for you!” And she was at my front door with a portable crib, claiming with a big smile, “Cynthia has grown out of it. It’ll find better use in your place!” And indeed, it was frequently used by Yaya in her first two years.

Yuhang, I know you are not going far away. You live in our hearts and memories. For many of us, you are a lifetime treasure. See you in my dreams… 


Yuhang was such a wonderful woman, a great mom with a beautiful smile on her face always. Met Yuhang 12 years ago. We spent 2012 Christmas family vacation at Whistler with her family together, with wonderful memories.  She will be in our hearts always, and we will miss you.

It struck us so hard when we heard sad news. Yuhang was such a wonderful women, a great mom and always a good family friend. We spent a lot of family vacation time together, even after we moved to CA. She was always energetic and had a beautiful smile on her face. Yuhang, We only met 3 or 4 times in 109 Cafe, I was already infected by your joyance. When you heard I came from WDAG team, you were eager to learn more about it. Your face are lighted up when we talked about anecdote and your laughter everywhere.

At one point at the end of a meeting Yuhang asked me about the Japanese characters on my t-shirt and if I knew what they meant. I said I did and noted it was the first koan given to beginners in koan study. We then talked for about a half an hour about the nuances of Mu in Chinese. It was a wonderful talk and one that I didn't expect to have at work. She will be missed.

Yuhang was one of the most friendliest people I have ever met. At work, she was the person I ran ideas by first and trusted her opinion above all others. 

I especially enjoyed when Cynthia visited Yuhang at work because you could feel the warmth between them.  

I, with so many others, will miss her.  Please accept my condolences.

Even I knew Yuhang only a little over a year, but her positive attitude, her beautiful smile will be remembered forever. I still remembered the last time we met. She had already started treatment at that time and endured the server pain every single moment. But we talked, laughed. She didn't let us feel she was sick. She always brought the best side of her to others.
