Richard Adolph Snavely, born June 2, 1932 in Centralia, WA. He passed away December 12, 2014 at his Redmond Home of pancreatic cancer. Richard grew up in Aberdeen, WA. After graduating high school, he joined the Navy for 4 years, during the Korean War. His rank was Machinist Mate 2nd Class. He enjoyed going to many Navy reunions and sponsored one in Sept. of 2001. He attended Grays Harbor College for an associate degree, later attending night school at the University of Washington. He was employed by Boeing Co. for 38 years. In 1979 Boeing sent him to Italy to assist the Italians in designing the 767 plane. He said that was the highlight of his career. He was a kind family man, and was well respected by friends and family. He had a sense of adventure. He curled at the Granite Curling Club, scuba dived, rock climbed, hiked, skied and loved to sail. He was a talented clock maker and could repair anything that needed repair. He was preceded in death by his son Richard Snavely, in 2005. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth; his son David Snavely and wife Carol, granddaughter Samantha, daughter-in-law Benita Snavely-Enano, brother Michael Snavely and wife Sharon, step grandson Vincent Ushikubu.
