Wilma Ethel Johnson

Wilma Ethel Johnson (nee Stoll), age 98, of Belleville, Illinois passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022. Wilma was born March 30, 1923. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ada (nee Woods) Stoll; sons, John Wayne and Joseph Johnson; brothers, Curtis, Floyd, George and Melvin Stoll; and sisters, Virginia Favre, Idell Meder, Hazel Stoll, Eileen Nadler, Edith Knight, Colleen Galati, Agnes Lewallen, and Doris Vielweber Weekly.

Left to cherish her memory is her granddaughters, Barbara (Richard) Presley of Belleville, IL and Katherine (Paul ) Correale of Santan Valley, AZ and grandson, Steven Johnson of Belleville, IL. Dear aunt, cousin, and friend to so many.

Wilma was a hard-working and energetic little lady. She enjoyed working in her yard and always keeping a neat and tidy home. She was an amazing cook and some of her specialties were pancakes and chicken and dumplings. Wilma didn't like to drive and often walked to work (even into her 70's!) She worked at many iconic Belleville places such as Mallow's Bakery and Grant's Department Store. After many years of serving our community, she finally retired from Steak n Shake. Wilma touched a lot of lives and her warm, dynamic personality will be lovingly remembered by her family and this community.

Wilma will be laid to rest on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Valhalla Gardens of Memory with a committal service at 9:45 a.m.
