Alex or Murph as he was affectionately known, loved his family and friends more than anything. His journey on earth was too short but all who had the privilege of knowing him were touched by his signature laugh, goofy humor, and gentle and genuine spirit. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him for not the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived during the good times of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Alex is survived by his loving mother Pamela Murphy, his sister Julia Haeffele, brother-in-law, Ryan Haeffele, niece Lucy Haeffele. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him dearly. He was predeceased by his father Timothy Murphy.
Alex was passionate about many forms of art – cooking, music and painting were passions of his. He adored his cat family members and animals of all sorts, as well as Blues hockey and Cardinals baseball.
Those who knew Alex will remember him for his infectious and overwhelming laughter, and for spreading love and kindness to everyone he encountered. He had a gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Alex’s life from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, November 11th, 2024, at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois. Memorial Service will be at 7:00 pm.
