At an early age, Roy made the decision to become a Medical Doctor. He enrolled at the University of Western Ontario and at the age of 25 he achieved his goal and continued to practice medicine for the next 60 years.
Roy was known for his kindness and generosity. Not only towards his family but also lifelong friends, new friends, and his medical patients. He was a loving and doting husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle.
Roy is survived by his wife, Marjanne, of 41 years. From the moment their eyes met on that elevator the previous year, their marriage was to be admired.
Roy also leaves behind his children Mark and Laura Gillick, Robin and Rand Samuels, Matthew and Gina Clark, Patrick and Carrie Clark, Paula Gillick, and his sister, Dorothy Fishbayn. His sons, Michael Gillick and Richard Gillick, and brother Louis, preceded him in death.
Roy leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Jacob and Alli Gillick, Mitchell and Boram Gillick, Max, Scout, and Caleb Gillick, Leah, Jade, and Freh Samuels, Jonathan and Kayla Clark, Rebekah and Jack McQueen, Joshua Clark, Sarah and Matthew Santy, Emily Clark, Shelby and Mark Lopez, Logan Clark, and Michael Millonovich, and many great grandchildren. Their memories from over 17 years at the dude ranch-- along with the numerous grammapa adventures-- will continue throughout the remainder of their lives, which are now sure to be filled with love and affection. We love you and will miss you tremendously.
Thank you from Roy’s family to all the health and medical caretakers including Susan, Miss Diamond, and Miss Renee who made his remaining days comfortable and respectful.
