Mary Kay Beard passed away on March 9, 2012, her 97th birthday. Born Mary Katherine Poe to Edgar A. and Eunice Poe. She had one brother, Allen who preceded her in death. She was married to George Wallace Urban in 1934 until his death in 1991. They had two children, Margaret Ann and Nancy Katherine. Houston was their home since 1936 and loved it dearly. Mary Kay, as she was known, remarried in 1992 to Robert Beard and was happily married for five years until his death in 1997.
She is survived by daughters, Margaret and her husband Gene Russell and Nancy and her husband Del Roy Armstrong; grandchildren, Carol, Doreen, Michelle, Mark and Kevin; ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 12, 2012 in the chapel of the Mausoleum at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077.
