Martha Lee Houston

Martha Lee Houston, a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2011. A resident of Bellaire, Texas, since 1958, she was most recently a resident of Brighton Gardens Senior Assisted Living in Bellaire. Martha was a long time member of South Main Baptist Church where she loved to participate in the many women’s activities of the church.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, David M. Houston. She is survived by her brother Sam Berry and his wife Evelyn Berry of Fort Collins, Colorado, by her son David T. Houston and his wife Mary Houston of Houston, Texas, by her daughter Debbie Hoover and her husband Gary Hoover of Littleton, Colorado, by her granddaughter Holly Butler, her husband Jens Butler, and great grandson Charles Vernon Butler of Fairfield, Iowa, and by many other loving relatives, friends, and neighbors.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2011, in the Westmoreland Chapel of South Main Baptist Church, 4100 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77002. The family is asking that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the South Main Baptist Church capital campaign.
