Maria Guadalupe Mejia left us on the morning of March 26, 2021 peacefully in the presence of family in her hometown of Houston, Texas.
She was born in Cuernavaca, Mexico on December 13, 1944 and came to the United States in 1964 to start a new life and family. She made her roots in Bellaire, Texas and in 1973 she had her first child, daughter Edith Mayela. In 1981 she gave birth to her son, Omar Marcos.
Throughout her life, she always worked hard and always put others before herself. This is a trait that crossed over beyond her personal life but also into her professional life. This path lead her to meet the McElvenny family which would go on to become extended family.
Her zest for life and her family was what she was most proud of including her 3 grandchildren Nicolas Alexander, Katelyn Marie, Harper James and honorary son, Ryan Talbot.
A celebration of life will be held on Good Friday April 2, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. Reception for friends and family following service.
