He was born in New York City, New York on October 23, 1922 to Calgero and Alfonza Sperrazza and grew up in Queens, New York. He served in WWII in the Army Air Force. He was a navigator on the transport planes in the Burma-India arena. He married Bernice Kinmond in New York City on July 28, 1947. They were married for 60 years. Tom received a Masters in Geology from NYU and had a successful 32 year career with Stanvac & Exxon as a Paleontologist. He was fortunate to live and work all over the world. Bernice and Tom lived in the Philippines, Indonesia and Australia before setting up roots in Houston, Texas in the 1970’s.
He is preceded in death by his wife Bernice, brother Salvatore Sperrazza, sister Carmela Izzi, and brother Rosario Sperrazza. He is survived by his daughter Donna Sisak and husband William, and their children Ryan and Rebecca, his son Dale Sperrazza, wife Laurie, and their children Scott, Kevin, and Shawn, and his son Tim Sperrazza.
He enjoyed every day to the fullest, always with a smile. He was interested in playing the piano, singing, golfing, fishing, boating and fixing anything. He was an active member of the Geologic Society of Houston, the AAPG and the Italian Club of Houston.
His life can be summed up as what was most important to him – Family, Fun and Making Others Happy. We will miss you always.

A funeral service will be held on Friday September 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038
