He was an active 95 year old who demonstrated a zest for Life!
Edward Marks is survived by his son, Lewis Adam Marks, daughter Helen Marks Owren and granddaughter, Leila Anya Lopez Marks.
Edward was born on May 5,1926 in New York to Louis and Lillian Marks.
While studying for one of his many degrees, Eddie met the love of his life, Irene Adams. Irene was the biology librarian at the university. After countless visits to the library, he married his beloved Irene and they were inseparable for 69 years until her passing in 2019. They enjoyed traveling abroad before returning to Houston and being blessed with a son and daughter. As a family, they moved to SE Asia where they lived for 10 years. They enjoyed experiencing and being immersed in a diversity of cultures while traveling around the world.
From a young age, Eddie loved dinosaurs which led to his career as a paleontologist. Among his many accomplishments, Edward was a Master Mason at Temple Lodge #5. He was instrumental in the engineering and construction of the Masonic Temple. He was a fraternal brother for 50+ years.
Edward, Eli-ahu Ben Lebel v'Leah, was a devoted member of Beth Shalom of The Woodlands. He loved singing in the Synagogue Choir in which he participated for all the years. Always with a smile, he cherished the memories made in the congregation.
A service took place at 1pm on July 28 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston, TX 77038.
There was also a gathering at Beth Shalom of The Woodlands, 5125 Shadowbend Pl,The Woodlands,TX 77381 on July 28th.
