I was 12 years old, it was July 1965 when I first met Aunt Dot. She came back to Newfoundland to my mom's funeral. My mom Peggy and Dot were sisters. She was so kind and loving towards my brother, sister and me. Over the years I would get to know her by speaking to her on the phone. When I was living in Montreal she called and asked if I could get a cream for bed sores. When my Uncle was sick and bed ridden he suffered from bed sores and the only cream that would work came from Quebec and she needed me to get it for her. She was so happy when she received it and was quick to let me know how well it worked.  This was the only thing I ever did for my Aunt but I knew it meant the world to her. She was beautiful and caring. May She Rest in Peace! Judy Boland-Moy

To all of Dot's family:  Pamellia Dr. just won't be the same without her.  Our deepest sympathy to Valdra and husband, grandson Roy Lee and his wife, and also to Dot's beloved great granddaughter, Emma. 

May your cherished memories comfort all of you in this time of sorrow.  

I personally, will miss her encouragment on my daily walks as she cheered me on when I rounded the corner from Ave B onto our street.  She always took time from her gardening to greet me or to remind me that she was happy to see me as I past her house!

I remember Aunt Dot as being a very beautiful lady.  She was my Dad's sister.  The last time I saw her in person was when she came home to Newfoundland in a camper van, with Aunt Jim (Mary Cashin) and Pat Pasquier.  We were a family of 10 children and Aunt Dot and Aunt Jim would send us home great big boxes of clothes every fall.  We would all be so excited to get this clothes and we would all dig in and manage to pull out something to fit. Aunt Dot reminded me of a Princess or a Queen as she was so beautiful and refined.  She was indeed a lady.  We will all miss her even though we did not know her very well. Dad, John (Jack), Aunt Dot's brother, Mom, and all my brothers and sisters send out condolences.

I am very sorry to hear of Dotti's passing.  She was a wonderful friend to my mother, Pat Blanchard.  I am grateful that Dotti was a part of my mom's life.  May your sadness pass quickly to fond memories of your beautiful and talented mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.

I was very sorry to hear of aunt Dot's passing.  I met her many years ago when she was to Newfoundland for a visit with Aunt Mary and uncle Pat.  I was looking at the pictures and can see in her smile what a fun person she must have been to be around.  I would have liked to know her more.   She looked like she enjoyed her life and that is so wonderful. God bless you all and know that you are in our prayers and thoughts here in Newfoundland.  Linda Cashin and the Cashin family

Dear Valdra & Family, 

I was so very sad to hear of the loss of your dear, sweet Mom, Dottie.  She was such a beautiful "spirit" and I am so very thankful that her path and that of my Mom's (Pat Blanchard) crossed those many years ago at Halliburton.  The warm, loving (and fun!) friendship that they developed (and which they shared with their other "Golden Gal Pals") was such a blessing to my Mom (and to me and all my sisters too!).  And, her loving and caring ways (especially when my Mom was battling cancer) will always be remembered and cherished by all of us as well.

I enjoyed very much looking through all the photos you put together in your Mom's memory.  What a beautiful smile she had (a smile I felt like I could almost "hear" in her voice whenever I spoke to her).  They also reminded me of her beautiful home (and yard!) and what a gracious "hostess" she was (always seemed delighted to see whoever might drop by for a visit).  

Long story short, I do feel very blessed to have had the chance to get to know and spend some time with your Mom (and to have enjoyed a "bit" of the friendship she shared with my Mom and their "Golden Gal Pals").  

May all the wonderful memories she helped create for and with you and your family (and so many others) bring you all comfort and peace at this difficult time and may she rest in the peace of God's loving hands.

I was very sorry to learn of Dottie's passing. My mom, Pat Blanchard, was a good friend of hers and I know how much mom enjoyed their long, warm friendship. I remember Dottie as a very vivacious and lovely woman who loved dancing and gardening. My sincerest condolences go out to all her family and friends.

I will always remember Dottie fondly. My mom, Pat Blanchard, pictured in your slides, loved her dearly and always spoke so affectionately of her.It was so good to see the "Golden Girls", as we all called them in your slides.

Dottie lived a full life with many joys and sorrows to be sure, and now she is at peace. God bless you all in her family and among her friends. Mary Floeck
