Alan Frederick Stevenson

Alan Frederick Stevenson, age 90, passed away peacefully February 26, 2017 in Bellaire, Texas. Alan was born October 3, 1926 in West Hartlepool, England to Albert and Edith Stevenson. Alan attended Kings College in England and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In his younger years he was a member of England’s Merchant Marines. Throughout his career with Westinghouse & Bechtel he traveled and lived all over the world including New York, California, Pennsylvania, Canada, India, and Brazil. There was not a place in the world that his children would ask him about that he hadn’t seen. While in Brazil he met the love of his life, Nelir, and this is where their two beautiful children were born. From there he was transferred to South Korea where they spent 6 years and then retired and moved to Humble, Texas. He enjoyed walking his dogs in the neighborhood.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Edith Stevenson, his brother Peter and sister Betty. Alan is survived by his wife, Nelir, and their two children Brian Stevenson and Myra Stevenson Phillips, her husband Bryan Phillips and their children Colby, Sloane and Blake Phillips.

A memorial service in his honor will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10 AM at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet, Bellaire, Texas 77401.
